SOURCE– At some point this week, the NBA is expected to release the full schedule for the 2016-17 regular season, including their much-anticipated slate of Christmas games. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, one of those matchups will feature the Knicks and Celtics, both of whom made headline-grabbing moves this summer.
When I first saw this report, my eyes lit up. Nothing makes me more excited than to know that I will be able to watch a game on Christmas Day that I actually will care about. Because lets face it, Christmas Day sucks. I am no grinch, don’t get me wrong. Christmas Eve, awesome. Christmas morning, even better. Christmas day, ehh.
I don’t know about you but after the first hour of seeing my extended family, all I want to do is sit down, grab a drink, and watch sports. Anything that gets me away from my aunts and uncles asking me way too many questions and telling me way too many stories.
Thanksgiving is the best, I get to watch football all day, the perfect get away. But Christmas, I don’t know about you, but I don’t get off on watching regular season basketball games of teams I really don’t give a shit about. I mean I watch them don’t get it twisted, but it doesn’t come close to the NFL’s Thanksgiving.
But the Celtics? Oh boy sign me up. This is going to be the best Christmas ever. And this match up is perfect. The Knicks suck! Super Team??! Are you fucking kidding me?? HA! Ok lets see how your super team stacks up against the C’s. Lets be honest here, by the time Christmas rolls around Derrick Rose will be in his normal uniform.
And Melo will either be joining him or hogging the ball the whole game shooting air balls.
Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is to be able to post a vine of Jaylen Brown posterizing Kristap Porzingis. I have been a good boy this year (ehh) and I think I deserve that.
