Patriots Preview: Preseason Week 3 vs The Pathners

Another week, another preseason blog. This week was pretty quite because the practices were not open to the public, but here is what we know going into tonight.

D.J. Foster returned to practice this week which is HUGE. Especially with Dion Lewis being put on the PUP list. Foster had a great spring and needs to play well this week and next week to make this team. I hope he is 100% tonight because I think this kid is going to be perfect for our system.

Keshawn Martin is also expected to make his preseason debut tonight after being sidelined all camp. Keshawn is fighting with Aaron Dobson for that 5th wide receiver position with Nate Washington being cut earlier this week. Edelman, Amendola, Hogan and Mitchell seem to be ahead of both Keshawn and Dobson, and I can only see one of them making this roster.

Is anyone else expected to make their preseason debut tonight? Hmmm, Barkevious Mingo? Maybe him, but that’s not who I was thinking of. Hmmmm….

Oh yeah, TOM BRADY!!!

Listen I was tricked last week into thinking Brady was going to play before he cut his finger.

Trick me once, shame on you, trick me twice, shame on me.

I will not be tricked again. Listen up boys and girls. Brady will NOT start tonight. No way, no how. If for some strange reason I see Tom running out there to start the game over Jimmy in the DRESS REHEARSAL game I will be livid. There is no reason for Brady to play tonight. None. Jimmy needs all the reps he can get. To take away this start from Jimmy against a great defense like this, which is similar to the defense he is going to be facing week one in Arizona, would be the most stupid thing Bill Belichick has ever done.  @ me.
