Well that was a nice bounce back win. Bruins power play sucked so bad on Saturday, I call them out, and then they respond by scoring 3 man advantage goals. Tuukka Rask stood on his head last night and really kept this game out of reach for the Sabers. Tuukka had a couple of highlight reel saves including the break away on Brian Gionta who I forgot was still in the league no less their Captain. Listen, it was a great win but lets not get it twisted, we are talking about the Sabers here. Even less impressive when you point out that it was a Jack Eichel-less Sabers team. There is a reason why the Bruins looked amazing on the power play last night, Buffalo doesn’t have a goaltender.
The real challenge comes tonight, were the Bruins head north of the boarder to face the number 1 team in the league, the Montreal Canadiens. This team is red hot right now and always are a problem for the Bruins. It is interesting that they played Tuukka last night instead of saving him for tonight. Obviously, the Bruins were trying to make sure they get 2 points in this back to back. Tuukka doesn’t have a great track record against the Canadiens. He has a record of 5 – 15 which is not great if you asked me. I have no doubt that they didn’t mind having Tuukka get the win last night and take their chances tonight with him riding the pine.
It was a nice win last night for a team that really needed one. After dominating the Sabers last night, lets hope the B’s can take some of that momentum into the game tonight. Hit the music!
