Rob Gronkowski To Have Back Surgery Tomorrow. Probably Out For The Season.

SOURCE–   New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will undergo back surgery on Friday and there is no time frame for his return, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

Gronkowski left Sunday’s game against the New York Jets with a back injury, which a source says was diagnosed as a herniated disk. The need for surgery was first reported by the Buffalo News.

Gronkowski and quarterback Tom Brady were not present for practice on Wednesday. Brady, who is listed as having a knee injury, returned to the field Thursday.

Gronkowski had returned to action Sunday after missing the team’s game the week before because of a chest injury.

I am sick. Sick to my stomach. I can’t believe this is happening right now. Not that Gronk is hurt, look at his career history, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that he is hurt once again. No, I can’t believe that Gronk played last weekend against the Jets when he was obviously hurt. I said it in my article Monday. Bill, what the fuck were you thinking? You have the best Tight end in the world, he was obviously hurt, who knows if it was just a chest injury or a punctured lung. But how the fuck do you play him hurt against the 3-8 New York Jets. We obviously didn’t need him to win that game since, oh I don’t know, he got hurt on like the 3rd play of the game!

I honestly can’t comprehend how he was out there. If there is 1 player on this team that you should protect and make sure that he is healthy, it is Gronk. I would say Brady but Brady has proven time and time again that he can play through injury.

Well, this is why you traded for Bennett. This is why you got yourself some Gronk insurance. Thank god we have number 12 back there, because we are going to need him to put the team on his back even more than before.
